Last year saw a major change in smartphone designs with the advent of full frontal bezel-less displays. The new displays sure make these devices look much more futuristic and premium but this also means that there remains no room for the beloved home button that also used to house the fingerprint scanner.

Vivo will launch its latest device in CES this month, and it is expected to be announced on January 10. Vivo is using Synaptics' latest technology and the fingerprint sensor will lie between the OLED panel and the mainboard. The sensor will illuminate the finger in a small area. The company also claims that the accuracy and security of this sensor is comparable to the current generation sensors
